MY HLSS Doesnt play the sounds at all

I have made sure I did everything right, I converted the wavs properly, made the autoexec.cfg, bound togglewav, I get nothing but silence. When I click a preset button to load the sound I get the black bar and everything only nothing plays. One thing I noticed is that when I try to select my game directory, if I click autofind it doesnt find anything even though I play day of defeat almost every day. I tried making the game dir both HL and DOD and I get nothing but silence. Can someone please help me? You can skype me on sn Ubergrinder. Thanks

PLease skype me, I thought I answered all those questions. Basically everything is in order as far as setup. My game dir I tried both my hl dir and my dod dir, neither worked. Also what was weird was that when trying to autofind the game dir it woundt find anything.
